A Good 12 Inches: “Yeke Yeke” Tribute Tee
Celebrate a foundational moment in dance music history with this high-contrast back-print tee. And one of my favourite tracks!
This design pays homage to the legendary Mory Kanté, whose 1987 smash “Yeke Yeke” became the first African single to sell over a million copies, forever bridging the gap between traditional Mandinka music and the global club scene.
The Design
Back: A bold, double-stacked “YEKE YEKE” graphic in a striking solar yellow. The typography features a halftone, digitised texture that mimics the energy of a peak-time dancefloor and the vintage aesthetic of early electronic production.
Front: A clean, minimalist aesthetic featuring the signature “A Good 12 Inches” logo embroidered/printed on the left chest—a seal of quality for those who know their wax.
